Chocolate Brownies

What don’t Brownie’s have going for them? They have great flavor, are simple to make and you can pair it with so many other great foods like marshmallows and ice cream! So rich, we love that these brownies are almost better the next day!

  • 1 can Baker's Joy® Original Non-Stick Baking Spray with Flour
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar or sugar twin granulated white
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray an 8' x 8' baking pan with Baker's Joy® spray. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside. Combine eggs, applesauce, butter and vanilla in a large bowl. Stir in flour mixture just until blended. Gently stir in chocolate chips. Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until batter is edging away from sides of pan and middle is slightly soft. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. To serve, cut into sixteen squares.
