Chocolate Chip Cookies

Did you know that the chocolate chip cookie was first made in the USA in 1930? We think it’s America’s most famous cookie! Whether you like them gooey out of the oven or on your ice cream sandwiches, the recipe it a true traditional favorite!

  • 1 can Baker's Joy® Original Non-Stick Baking Spray with Flour
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup Sugar Twin Granulated White Sugar or sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray baking sheets with Baker's Joy® spray. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl. Beat butter with sugars in a large bowl with electric mixter until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla until blended. Gradually beat in flour mixture just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Scoop dough into small balls and arrange on baking sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes, do not over-bake. Cookies should be firm around the edges and bottom, and soft in the middle. Cool sheets 2 minutes on wire rack; remove cookies from sheets and cool completely.
